Cheescake Factory Soda

We went to the on Monday for lunch. Here, it’s at the “The Greene” and outdoor mall.. very nice. We like going a couple times a month, and more in the summer when the fountain is on. The boys can spend hours playing in the water there.

wanted chicken fingers and fries and ordered roadside sliders. I didn’t think to get any pictures of the food, other than the drink and the bread - which ended up being the only thing the boys really wanted to eat anyway. Next time I’ll just order extra sour dough bread and well… dessert, which we all opted to skip this time (and I was SO thankful to cut things short).

Here are some other Cheesecake Factory pictures I’ve taken.. this outing and another - but not all of the times we’ve been.

lived on fla-vor-ice today and burrowed into a pile of cushions and blankets on the couch.. I worked, but he had grandma to keep him company (and she did my dishes AND laundry.. yes.. my mil is a keeper!)

Thankfully, no pukies or otherwise.. just fever, achiness, stuffiness and a .

Hopefully whatever I had 2 weeks ago is enough to keep this bug away from me.

Grant Park Hike

Took the boys and the dogs for a walk at the other day. is a leash puller, so Bob was really having to hold her back. I think she’s been use to having the whole back yard to run and play, at her leisure. Being put on a leash was limiting.

She had a good time. She walked through the creek, but didn’t really seem all that in to playing in the water. Which was ok with me, since I didn’t really prepare for wet in my van.

was in to walking a bit. She had fun. She tromped right through the water like she isn’t part cat (as in, this particular is so *not* a water ). Surprised me. I expected her to daintily (not that she’s prissy, but when it comes to water…) walk across the rocks.

The boys had fun playing and got to play in the creek throwing rocks. The creek was a little low though. We saw some small fish, and the water smelled real fishy… not like when it’s fuller and moving along.

Later though, when we were the absolute furthest from the car, got bit by an aggressive, territorial wasp. I was so mad. He’d just taken his hat off, had gone down the slide, and was going back for one more ride before we were going to start walking back.. and the dang thing came right down and got him on the head. He’s such a trooper.. cried how it hurt, but man, he’s one tough little guy. At home, we put ice on it.. but it was a tough ride home.

Miss Sky - Australian Shepherd

Meet Missy , the newest addition to our family.

Bob and the boys went to one of the local Humane Society to meet a few dogs. We were looking for herding-type dogs.. German Shepherd, Border Collie, .. one that was young, but not a puppy.

Missy (her name is , but I’m not convinced she really knows it very well, so I’m taking to call her Missy) caught Bob’s attention yesterday. But she was in the process of being adopted. She struck a cord with Bob, because he mentioned her to several people over the course of the evening and the next morning.

I sent them back to the HS to visit a couple specific dogs.. when he and the boys got there, Bob heard someone mention . As it turns out, the adoptive “parents” called the HS this morning to cancel their adoption.

Within a couple of hours, Bob and the boys were at Old Roberds showing me the new addition.

Missy is a very shy girl, about 4 years old - very timid around people until she gets a few minutes to know you, though she takes to with no hesitation. Her and greeted each other fairly well, but it’s going to take a little time for them to both be comfortable each other. Right now, is a little timid around her, and she does some low, but soft throat noises. I’m hesitant to call them growls, as it isn’t really menacing..

Missy had a busy evening in her new backyard. She gave a run for her money - is fast, but has not been exposed to a herding who anticipates the tight turns and so there never was a large gab between the two. didn’t last too long (whippets don’t have a long endurance, as Grey Hounds, but a rather short burst of speed).

The boys got their motorcycle and quad-runner out (12 volt) and I laughed till I had tears as Missy chased them and bit at the tires and fenders.

Bed time rolled around later than usual and I patted the boys bed to show Missy where she was sleeping.. she hopped right up there and got comfortable.

She’s currently sleeping under the table, where I’m working… Tomorrow we’ll do a visit to the pet store for a couple toys, and a new brush.. and later get a good bath.. too.. they both smell like (imagine!) dogs. :)

See more pictures of Missy , and our other 4 legged friends.
