I’m a wife to 1 and mom to 4 and new!! Grandma, er.. Yaya to one beautiful little baby girl! We share our small house in Ohio with 6 dogs, Bean – our Whippet, Sky – our Australian Shepherd, Enzo and Ella the Italian Greyhounds – newly added Mac (aka Doobie Doo) and Lucy our little aussies, as well as our kitty, Maggie, several rats (visit Fuzz Butt Rattery) and fish.
On motherhood:
Momma of 4 and a daughter stillborn at 37 weeks. I’m all for natural births, however, I opt for drugs. I think homebirths are awesome, but I’m more comfortable in the hospital (see Our Birth Stories). We practice gentle, instinctive parenting. However, I’m not against a swat on the butt to grab attention. I’m pro-breastfeeding – even extended, but I’m not anti-formula. We are a co-sleeping family (though the older kids are in their own rooms ;) ), yet I long for my own space in bed…. we finally have it too, after several years of co-sleeping.. all kids sleep without me now.. sad, but feels good.
My trades:
Aside from being a mom, I’m a soapmaker. I am currently only non-profit, making enough soap for family, friends, and ourselves. I love making hot and cold process soap and will always make our own soap or support other soapmakers. Interested in hot process soap making? I make mine using a large crock pot.
