How to make Pie Meringue

is a very sweet dessert, or pie topping made mostly from sugar and egg whites.

2 egg whites
1/4 tsp salt
4 TBSP sugar

Beat egg whites with salt until stiff.

Beat in sugar slowly until smooth and glossy.

For variety

Banana - Slice 2 bananas into pie shell before adding the filling.

Coconut - Add 1/2 c. shredded coconut to cream filling; turn into a baked pie shell. Top with and sprinkle with coconut. Bake as for .

Chocolate - Make filling as for , adding 1/2 c. milk, 1/4 c. sugar, and 2 1/2 squares chocolate. Melt chocolate in milk. Top with and bake, or serve plain with whipped cream.
