Picking Up Toys

It was beyond being able to just “pick up the toys”…

We were living in a mine-field of toys, an obstacle course… I was hating it. There was no “let’s just go through this box of toys” to make any progress. No.. it wasn’t going to happen that way. It couldn’t… it was well beyond that point.

Tege and I, with Ry’s help, pulled ALL the toys boxes, bags, totes, baskets, and dumped it all in the middle of the floor.

We made 1 pile that were ‘keepers’. Then we lined up large paper shopping bags for our ‘givers’ and one more pile to toss in the trash. I probably should have taken pictures. But it was just too embarrassing.

In the end, seven, yes 7, shopping bags were being given away.. and 1 1/2 bags of trash go to the curb tomorrow. What were we left with? Too many toys still – how they can play with all of them is beyond me – but we narrowed it down to a few totes with some favorites… 1 just for cars (of all sorts), 1 just for figures (action figures and people) another one for transformers and animals, and yet one more small one for food… we also managed to make a tote with just dress up clothes.. and we still have our trains. Yes.. it even sounds like a lot still – but really our living room looks like a living room again.
