Personally, i have been using akismet and dofollow plugins for a long time. If your blog is dofollow, akismet is unreplaseble because you get so many spammy comments.

Cheers for the update - I usually call myself the Joomla Template Bear :) I'm not sure, I must have entered Dofollow in the name field without thinking.
Have installed dofollow on my blog also.
Nice meeting you.

Dofollow - I was able to see what you were talking about in the email notification. The plugin I use has a page on the wp dashboard to allow you to change settings. Apparently, when I upgraded the last time, it reset my values - so I've fiddled with them. It appears the author link doesn't change, but the links within the comment (like the last blog post) are followed.

Most importantly to me are any links I publish in a written post... I want (most of) those to be followed... When I originally added a dofollow plugin, the point was I didn't want to have to edit every link I published to remove the nofollow since wordpress automatically added that into their code.

damn - as soon as I published that I realised copy pasting the source was not going to work - here is an example without the tags
href='http://www.mommamuse.com' rel='external nofollow' class='url'>Judi

All links are nofollow.

Dofollows last blog post..Time Lapse Video - View From JoomlaBear Office

Thanks for your quick response and for letting me know about Lester Chans plugin.

However if I look at your source code I do not see dofollow comment links.

KaSyah above my comment looks like this:
 kaSyah

my comment looks like this:
Dofollow

Your response to my comment looks like this:
Judi

I stumbled on your blog while looking around for the best set of plugins to get nofollow comments working on my own blog.

Thanks
