Toshiba A75 class action lawsuit
- by Judi on Apr 12, 2006
Insure.com has an article on how a class action lawsuit works. It speaks specifically about insurance, however, the information is good and worth the read. Or, if that link doesn’t work, visit Class Action Lawsuits
Green Welling LLP has a class action lawsuit filed for the A70/A75 Toshiba laptops, which also includes the M30X and the M35X. (shame on toshiba!) To be included in their information, fill out their notification form. I spoke with one of them on the phone last summer. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. At that time, according to the lawyer I spoke with, if the lawsuit ends in the consumers favor, toshiba will be required to notify all owners of the named laptops.Â
Currently, my $1500+ laptop is good for web surfing and email use. I am unable to play Toontown on it, downloading cd’s causes it to shutdown, and I don’t chance doing too much graphic work. Quite a price to pay.Â

If you call Toshibia, their customer service line puts you on hold for up to 30 minutes. When I finally got to a person, the manager offered to have the laptop repaired, yet again, and told me they couldn’t give me info on the class action suit.
Luckly a good google search put me in touch with the right people.
Hi,
We have a Toshiba A75 from 2004, which gives us nothing but troubles. The computer has been having overheating problems from very beginning and Toshiba refused to do anything. Please email us information about a class suit against Toshiba.
Thanks
I bought a A75 S211 in Feb 2005. I have had overheating problems and now DC jack trouble. I sent in the laptop for the overheating and it came back with DC jack problems. Of course now the warranty is out and Toshiba won’t do anything about it. I have taken it to several places and have learned that this model line is full of problems. I thought Toshiba was an excellant brand. Well now I know different.

Click on our cases and toshiba.
I was so happy to find out that there is a class action lawsuit, Paid almost 1700 for the laptop and it over heats in the middle of everything. Already had the DC piece replaced, of course after the warrenty was up though. Hope that they can remedy this cus laptop is great except for the over heating issues… worried too that it might be frying things before the shutdown.. I try to prop it up and keep good airflow but NO GO
I too purchased an A75-S2762 in July of 2004 and it has been nothing but CONSTANT problems. I have a 3 year warranty on it but everytime.. (at least 15) that its been sent in for repair its just been sent back and the same thing happens all over again. This is rediculous. I would like to have more information on the lawsuit. I read somewhere that they only give you 25 dollars back? Right now im in the process of doing a backup so I can send it into toshiba again, it’s propped up on a metal/wire weave paper shredder bin, so far it’s staying on but nothing works. it overheats and shuts off. It’ been doing this since I bought it in 2004. It’s frustating.
Thanks.
Hi, I have Same problem, Overheating, Is there any class action in Progres?
I even didnt called them, because I know they dont care and they would not do anything.
Mike
I appear to be in the same boat. I bought a Toshiba A75 S125 and have been experinceing the same overheating problems. I have tried proping it up and no help I even bought an external hard drive thinking I had too much material on my computer and mabye if I opened up more free memory it may help but more money wasted. I have brought it in to the Geek Squad and no viruses or problems found. I to see so many people with problems
but we may be able to get something done.
I have a toshiba qosimo, and I almost didnt but it because the one at officemax had most of the
lower part of screeen melted, near where mine is getting hot hot hot. Shuts down all the time.
Purchased with extended warranty, but the repair service centers have gone out of business. Now Im
looking for another place to send for repairs..
I had a toshiba A75 s125 since 2004, and I am keeping having the overheat problem and force to shut this damn thing down, I had to buy a 3 pounds notebook cooler pad which cost around 29.99usd in order to make this sucker work properly……motherfucker….
Same problem, Overheating
Toshiba has extended the warranty on these machines and yeap they are repairing them with bad partsor “refurbish part”. So I would like to know we does that leave us after November 7, 2007. They are NOT repairing them with parts that will last. Maybe the should get suit again for that.
is there anything i can do after nov 7th 2007?!:!??!?!
does anyone know what can i do got my a75 serviced on nov 2007 and now the same problems keep happening what can i do. toshiba says my extended warrenty was expired. this sucks
Same problem for me. This problem started a few months ago for me. Does anyone have any info on any lawsuits that will help us now?
I sent my laptop to Toshiba for repair for the 5th time. They changed the HD, it took them a month to repair it. After I got it back, it was worse than when I sent it in. I called Toshiba and spoke with someone with broken English, who gave me a case NR and transferred me to another person. I was on hold for almost an hour. I hung up and called back, by now I am furious. Then they transferred me to Tech. support who wanted $35.00 to help me with the problem. Then they asked rudley if I expected a free service. I was transferred back, and no one picked up again. When I called back they told me to expect to hold for up to 3 hours. I told them they were playing games with their cutomers and he laughed. Finally I was told someone would return my phone call within 3-5 business days. No one has called. This is criminal on their part!!!
