I bought a Toshiba Satellite P35. Right when they came out, which is basically the A75 with a bigger screen? It has a 17 inch screen. First thing the DVD player supposed Burner sucked, very temperamental. Toshiba replaced it because I had so many problems, once they replaced it still the same problems. No Firmware update or anything, it was
botched from the start. It only liked certain kinds of discs.

I got a 3 year warranty and by trade. I am a computer tech; the reason I bought this laptop was for gaming. It was one of the first 17 inch laptops and it was sold as a gaming laptop. What a joke, the video card is one of the worst ones I have ever seen. This is what I have done to mine. For 2 years of the warranty. The first year the system board went bad from the Heat. That’s when I realized they sold me a laptop with a Desktop chip in it. The 2nd year the PC started having issues again, changed the system board, the CPU, and when I got it back, the hard drive was clicking. I took it back. Then 2 months later the screen had a line go right thru the middle of it. In the end, they replaced the system board, CPU, the LCD screen, the fans, and the hard disk drive. Almost a brand new laptop.

This whole laptop was a basketcase from the start by design, all caused by the heat in having the wrong kind of chip in it. I have like the other people called Toshiba and about called them every name in the book. The provider for them was arrogant, they didn't fix the problem and I told them how to fix it. Then after I talked to the owner, my suggestion worked. He even offered me a job, because his techs sucked.

My warranty is now out, and the laptop is having issues again, like the fans are running all the time at a higher rate than it should. I know the system board again is going to burn out. This time, I won't get it repaired. I will just get a new machine from a different company. I worked for IBM for over 3 years and we NEVER treated people the way Toshiba has.

I would love to put my PC on a Class action lawsuit against Toshiba because I know they rushed to get the 17 inch screens out before looking at the problems the CPU was going to be from the heating problems. Also I paid $1600 for it when it came out.

Last thing, check the Toshiba website there’s a new call back on the Toshiba Satellite A75 and the P30 and P35 models; they could have the batteries that explode. Like the link below.

Toshiba will never get my business again.

I sent my laptop to Toshiba for repair for the 5th time. They changed the HD, it took them a month to repair it. After I got it back, it was worse than when I sent it in. I called Toshiba and spoke with someone with broken English, who gave me a case NR and transferred me to another person. I was on hold for almost an hour. I hung up and called back, by now I am furious. Then they transferred me to Tech. support who wanted $35.00 to help me with the problem. Then they asked rudley if I expected a free service. I was transferred back, and no one picked up again. When I called back they told me to expect to hold for up to 3 hours. I told them they were playing games with their cutomers and he laughed. Finally I was told someone would return my phone call within 3-5 business days. No one has called. This is criminal on their part!!!
