Simple Chili
- by Judi on Nov 5, 2005
In our house, food is always at the most simple combination. The more basic it is, the more likely it will be eaten. Picky eaters at your house too? Here’s my chili recipe:
Simple Chili
1 lb ground beef
1 can chili beans (we do mild)
1 can tomato sauce (Hunt’s is my favorite)
1 TBSP chili powder
Brown ground beef. Drain. Add chili powder, mix and let “cook” while you open cans. I let it heat up really well, stirring very often. Then turn down to low to simmer for about 15 minutes.
Tasty Toppings:
- diced onions
- cheese (parmesan, shredded cheddar)
- crackers (oyster and/or ritz are favorites around here)
Winning ways to make eating Simple Chili fun:
Fritos Pie
- Pour chili over Fritos and top with shredded cheese.
Particularly for kid fun - Fritos Pies can be made into Walking Pies: Get the small snack size bags of Fritos. Open top, pour in chili and sprinkle with cheese. A disposable spoon/fork and your ready to Go!
Chili Spaghetti
- Top spaghetti with chili, add parmesan cheese. Serve with roll.
Happy eating!
